Ted's latest CD for Palmetto Records, The Mancini Project, continues to capture attention around the world. This project focuses on the music of Henry Mancini, with whom both Ted's father and uncle played on a regular basis during a period spanning the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. The recording draws on Mancini's rich repertoire of movie themes and songs, and also includes material not commonly recorded. The group features Frank Kimbrough on piano, Rufus Reid on bass, and Matt Wilson on bass. Ted will be touring in Europe in April with his quartet playing the music from this recording.
Ted is finishing up his new piece (a private commission), a seven movement suite for big band dedicated to the seven chakras. To gain more insight into chakras, Ted has met with metaphysical educator, healer and speaker Jodi Serota
Ted appears on Frank Wess' new recording, Once is Not Enough, recently released on the Labeth Music label.
Ted recorded a new CD with trumpeter Marcus Printup for Steeplechase, London Lullaby, which was released earlier this year. The quintet also features Eric Reed on piano, Barak Mori on bass, and Willie Jones III on drums.
