Healing Power - The Music of Carla Bley (Sunnyside) is the third album by a trio co-led by Ted Nash, Steve Cardenas, and Ben Allison. It follows Somewhere Else (2019) and Quiet Revolution (2018). We play a wide range of Carla Bley tunes written between 1958-1987, including the classics Ida Lupino and Lawns, along with lesser-known compositions such as Ictus and Donkey.
After sending the mastered tracks to bassist-composer Steve Swallow (Carla’s life partner and long-time musical collaborator), we received the following message back, which we share here with gratitude:
